Marlborough Chrysoprase

Marlborough is located about 70 kms north of Rockhampton on the main highway north to Mackay. Marlborough Chrysoprase has been mined from the Marlborough area of Central Queensland for many years. The material is located in high nickel-bearing soil. A wide range of chrysoprase material qualities is present and some of it is processed into beads whilst the gem-quality material has been used in some of the world's finest jewellery and carvings.
